    • The reason we use this basis: To fulfil contractual requirements to provide vocal tuition lessons or enter you for an exam or festival.
    • We process your information in the following ways: Your information is stored securely for the purpose of communication regarding your lessons, or to enter you for an exam or festival.
    • Data retention period: We shall continue to process your information for a period of up to 10 years after your final lesson, exam or performance.
    • Sharing your information: We only share your personal information with exam boards or festivals including, but limited to, LCM and ABRSM, only once you have confirmed your consent via electronic or hardcopy communication for the application to take place.
  • Lawful basis: Legal obligation
    • The reason we use this basis: To fulfil HMRC obligations.
    • We process your information in the following ways: Your information is stored for reference only by Rachele Russell Vocal Tuition for the purposes of self-assessment tax returns.
    • Data retention period: 10 years
    • Sharing your information: We do not share your information with third parties.
  • Lawful basis: Vital interests
    • The reason we use this basis: For those expressing an interest in purchasing lessons (soft opt-in), and have consented to being kept on a waiting list.
    • We process your information in the following ways: Your information is stored securely
    • Data retention period: One year or until the contact becomes a customer (whichever is longer)
      Sharing your information: We do not share your information with third parties.
  • Lawful basis: Legitimate interests
    • The reason we use this basis: Existing customers may be communicated to with information about performance opportunities for students.
    • We process your information in the following ways: Your data is stored securely and only used for communication on the basis outlined above.
    • Data retention period: Until the student is no longer a customer.
    • Sharing your information: We do not share your information with third parties.

If, as determined by us, the lawful basis upon which we process your personal information changes, we will notify you about the change and any new lawful basis to be used if required. We shall stop processing your personal information if the lawful basis used is no longer relevant.

In short, we only store data on those individuals who have taken the first step to contact us, and only the information provided by them is kept securely on file.

Only vital information, such as the contact’s name, the student’s name (if different from contact name), the student’s date of birth (only required for exam entries) and age, the contact’s email address and phone number, is collected.
